Hey there, friends!

Grab a cuppa and settle in because I'm about to take you on a journey through my first year in business with Hues Clothing. Spoiler alert: it's been quite the ride!

Let's rewind a bit to where it all began – over a decade ago when my twins were just tiny tots. The idea for Hues started brewing in my mind, sparked by a vision of luxuriously soft, vibrantly colourful clothing that would wrap every child in comfort and joy. Being comfy is key and I wanted to create a brand where kids could feel free to be themselves, to learn, play, dream, and explore without any limits. Life took many twists and turns to get to the point of launching Hues, but we got there in the end!

Now, fast forward to today, and I can hardly believe how far we've come. Sure, the road hasn't always been smooth sailing. There have been ups and downs, moments of self-doubt, and plenty of late nights spent wondering if I'm doing the right thing. But through it all, one thing has remained constant: my unwavering belief in the power of Hues.

This past year has been a whirlwind of learning and growth. From grappling with imposter syndrome to juggling the demands of family life and business ownership, it's been a wild ride. But you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way.

I remember attending a "Purpose Workshop" a few years back, where I discovered my mantra: "Don't panic! Go through the journey of life, always learning, and fighting for what you believe in." And let me tell you, that mantra has been my guiding light through it all, personally and professionally.

Initially, I had grand plans of running Hues as an e-commerce business, all from the comfort of my own home. But as fate would have it, our tactile children's clothing found its true home at in-person events like market stalls and concessions. Turns out, there's something special about seeing our clothes up close and personal – it's an experience you just can't replicate online.

And speaking of getting hands-on, I've been channelling my inner craftiness and adding some handmade items to our range – hello crochet earrings and our brand new felt patches! Think cosy knits and crocheted goodies that are perfect for staving off the chill and keeping little ones comfy and cosy. I've got big plans to expand this side of the business, and I can't wait to share more with you soon!

But amidst all the hustle and bustle, there's one thing that remains at the core of everything we do: sustainability. As a business, and as stewards of our planet, it's our mission to make sure that Hues is not only successful but also kind to people and the environment. We are also huge on supporting local and small businesses as we know just how hard it is!

So, here's to another year of colourful adventures, cosy clothes, and endless possibilities. Thank you for being part of this journey with me – I couldn't do it without you!

Until next time,

Elizabeth
