If you’re looking for handmade accessories in the UK that are actually comfortable to wear (not just pretty-on-a-photo), you’re in the right place.
Crafted by Hues is my small-batch range of handmade extras — the pieces I make slowly, in tiny runs, alongside Hues Clothing. They’re designed to feel good on your body, add a hit of bold colour, and bring a bit of joy to everyday outfits.
This is where my first love lives
Before Hues was a business, I was knitting and crocheting.
I’ve been making things with yarn since I was a child. It calms me. It helps me reset. It’s one of those things that makes my brain go quiet in the best way.
And it’s still my first passion — something I come back to again and again, and something I’m really excited to share through Hues.
So when I say Crafted by Hues is personal, I really mean it.
Why Crafted by Hues exists (and why it’s all about comfort)
I’m Elizabeth, founder of Hues — and I’m a neurodivergent founder (autistic + ADHD).
That means I’m always thinking about comfort and sensory experience: not just how something looks, but how it feels. If something is scratchy, heavy, tight, or annoying to wear, it’s not for me — and it’s not for Hues.
Crafted by Hues is where that creativity lives: small-batch handmade accessories, made slowly and with intention.
What you’ll find in the range
Crafted by Hues is a mix of handmade accessories and little Hues Crew extras — all designed to be comfy, wearable, and full of colour.
-
Crochet earrings: super lightweight (so you can wear them all day), but still a statement.
-
Knit scrunchies: soft, comfy, and made in bold Hues colours.
-
Scrap-fabric necklaces: hand knitted by me using offcuts returned from our UK factory.
-
Hues Crew extras: fun add-ons like our patches and keychains.
And this is just the start — I’ll be adding more pieces over time as I make them.
Lightweight, comfy, still a statement
A quick word on the earrings, because they’re the best example of what I mean by “comfortable but still fun”.
I make them to be super lightweight and comfy — the kind you forget you’re wearing — while still giving you that “yes, this outfit has a point of view” feeling.
Turning scraps into something special
One of my favourite pieces in the range is our scrap-fabric necklaces.
They’re made from scraps of our t-shirt fabric from production — offcuts that would otherwise be wasted. I love the idea that something left over can become something wanted.
It’s practical, it’s creative, and it fits perfectly with how I want Hues to exist in the world: thoughtful, low-waste where we can be, and always focused on comfort.
Why I’m making this a “proper” range now
I’ve offered handmade bits for a while at markets and events, but it’s time to properly make it its own range.
Two reasons, really:
-
So the handmade bits don’t get lost — they deserve their own little corner of Hues (and it makes them easier to find if you’ve spotted them at an event).
-
To protect my creativity — because crafting isn’t just “product” for me. It’s how I regulate, rest, and express myself.
Quick questions (before you shop)
